October 10, 2006 - Regional Premiere of Edgardo Mine
Friday, October 10th the regional premiere of Edgardo Mine was performed at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. The reception before had touching speeches from the director, the producer, and the playwright Alfred Uhry, who recast this event as really the world premiere, since so much had changed since the inagural Hartford Stage production in 2003.
The New Guthrie theater is set on the banks of the Mississippi river and has three theaters within it. Edgardo Mine is playing at the 700 seat theater which is draped in red. The set is an interesting set of columns where the action really never stops. The music and sound design very dramatic. It was a marvelous event for all the friends and family members (and Guthrie patrons) who attended.
