 The American Academy of Arts and Sciences today announced the election of David Kertzer as one its 196 new Fellows.

 In its annual selection of the best books of the year, Publishers Weekly today selected "Prisoner of the Vatican," with the comment:  "A riveting example of history writing at its best."
