May 9-16, 2007 - Secret Files of the Inquisition on PBS
PBS has scheduled the four-hour series, The Secret Files of the Inquisition, for two successive Wednesday evenings, May 9 and 16, 2007, 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET. The final hour is based primarily on "The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara" and, to an extent, on "The Popes Against the Jews" by David Kertzer. David Kertzer will appear on screen several times as the primary expert for episode four.
October 10, 2006 - Regional Premiere of Edgardo Mine
Friday, October 10th the regional premiere of Edgardo Mine was performed at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. The reception before had touching speeches from the director, the producer, and the playwright Alfred Uhry, who recast this event as really the world premiere, since so much had changed since the inagural Hartford Stage production in 2003.
October 6, 2006 - David Kertzer appears on National Public Radio
David Kertzer appears on National Public Radio's All Things Considered commenting on the recent opening of the pre-WWII archive of Pope Pius XI (1922-1939) by the Vatican.
